project origami
Since Shooee has dropped a rather obvious hint, I am here to update again!
*cough* hijacked brother's computer *cough*
Just had piano lesson this morning. I feel kind of guilty. I didn't practice my scales this past fortnight, but got away with it because my piano teacher didn't have time to do them. Then, I realized I haven't been practicing the Cimarosa right and got told off for it. >.<
Eeps >.<
And somebody PLEASE invent a way to make scales more interesting! Nothing, but NOTHING has ever been difficult and boring at the same time the way scales are.
Anyway today I shall upload some pics of my earrings!
Currently I'm into pine cone ones so here they are:
This is the first pair I made. Obviously.
Which is really more for autumn, no?
So since it's spring,
My first two leaf earrings. Of which I shall be improving soon by making them smaller and using more traditional Japanese patterns.
As well as butterflies! These are the three "prototypes" I made; I sold four pairs after that made using traditional prints. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures before I sold them, and hence cannot show them off here. The first ones I make of any design are always the ugliest >.>
And the first balloon earrings I made. Note the word "first".
I didn't measure the exact lengths of the earrings, but each piece is made from 4-by-4-cm squares, except for the leaves which were made from 4-by-8-cm rectangles which were then folded in half lengthwise.
So they would be about 2 to 3cm in length.
Now that I'm done with my uploading, I need my art guru to give her opinion. Shooee!
How are the prints? Folding? Beads combi? Do you know where I can get solid colour beads? So far I've only used Swarovski... and am a bit tired of them.
And of course, to anyone else who happens to be reading this blog, your feeback is greatly appreciated!
Domoarigatougozaimasu! Thank you, xie xie, kiitos.

heys jane,
ok... i think you asked way too many questions. i cant answer everything within the word limit of your tagboard... haha.
firstly, the prints. i like the ones with a lot of intricate patterns more than the pastel ones but that just me, i have come to realised that everyone likes different things (when doing my sales).
the folding is not bad! :) love the butterflies! and the pine cones. the leaves could do with a little more work but i guess since those are your first pairs, they will get better! :) erm, but i not crazy over th balloon ones...
as for the beads combi, i think they are all nice except for the pine cones ones with the huge sphere beads... the beads kinda take away the focus from the origami.
oh and you might want to try daiso for the beads? or art friends. or golden dragon/ mix n match at people's park....
what a long comment. :P
